This time Greg also has to attend one of this uncles fifth wedding and the whole family is going to gather at grammy's house for this event. The description of the family members is legen wait for it!! I just can't contain my smile while writing this review.

It was pages long, but I read it in one day! Aug 14, [Shai] Bibliophage rated it it was amazing Shelves: I don't approve how Greg treats his best-friend Rowley but after all what happened, at least they back as being friends in the end. I like how Greg's Gammie advised him not to hurry growing up and just enjoy his time as a teen now.

Young readers of this series also must remember the lessons hidden behind the funny stories in this series because they are written especially for them. Jan 10, Nicholas rated it it was amazing. I think this book is for people who like humer books and are in grades 2 to 6.

My favorite part of the book was when Greg climed through the sewer to Rowely's house just so he could dodge Fregly The wierd kid. The auther of this book is Jeff Kinney. I think this book was really funny becuase they do really wierd stuff like trying to ditch school. Sep 30, Brody rated it really liked it. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. If you like funny books , you should read this. Greg Heffley and Rowley had a fight, and now they are not friends anymore.

Now Greg and Rowley have to find new best friends. Greg thought that things would be changing with him and Rowley, but that didnt happen because Rowley had found a replacement friend. Actually his parents paid for the replacements. In the beginning Greg is alone with no friends to talk to. On page 12, he is sitting by himslf while a kid na I think its the best of all the other ones. On page 12, he is sitting by himslf while a kid named Bryce Anderson is surrounded by alot of kids.

Greg has been spying on Rowley and his new best friend. I think Rowley needs Greg because Rowley cant do anything right without him, like he cant even tie his shoe,he has to wear velcro shoes. I also think that Greg should tell Rowley that he wants to be his friend again.

On page 4 Greg it said that "if he wants to save this friendship he'd better do something fast. Why cant he do it?

I predict that Greg and Rowley are going to be friends,at the end, some way or another. Feb 07, Yuthika rated it really liked it. You're right, Greg, you should be in no hurry to grow up. Just keep amassing information for that biography of yours. Also, Greg is the star, but Rowley steals the spotlight every time he's around! Nov 24, Shoumik Sakib rated it really liked it. In this book Greg has lost his best friend Rowley because of an argument that they had.

His best friend Rowley's parents have hired some people to be his friend. Meanwhile Greg Is always bored and has no other friends to do anything with. Everyone out there seems to be having more fun then Greg. He feels left out. Everything is pretty normal at school but Rowley and Greg are trying their best to try to avoid each other. His uncle Gary was having his third wedding which was a complete dag to go In this book Greg has lost his best friend Rowley because of an argument that they had.

His uncle Gary was having his third wedding which was a complete dag to go to and the entire family had to stay at Gammie's house which he wasn't looking forward to. Gammie's house isn't the most child friendly place and it was also his turn to get "the talk" from Gammie which he wasn't looking forward to.

But then something miraculous happened. Jordan Jury one of the most popular kids in the school invited him and Rowley to a huge party.

Greg wants to go but his uncle Gary's wedding is on that day so he couldn't go, but Rowley ended up going. Greg finds out that he was going to get a tuxedo, at the wedding only the groomsmen get wear tuxedos. Maybe this going to his uncle's wedding would be a better thing to do instead of going to the party.

From a scale of 1 to 10 I would give this an 8 which goes for every other diary of the wimpy kid book. There were some parts that I really liked but there were some parts that were completely irrelevant to the book. I liked the part about Rowley and him becoming friends. Mar 07, Conner Rodriguez rated it really liked it. Good Reads Name: Conner Rodriguez Book: Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth Date: Diary of a Wimpy kid is about two kids named Greg and Rowley who are in there final year in middle school.

In their final year there friendship gets a little torn apart by Greg maturing and Rowley still acting like a five year old. Yes, I would recommend this book to someone. Not just anyone thought, I would only recommend it to young fifth graders who would like to know the life of a middle school student. Aug 27, Cooper Broadway rated it it was ok.

This is the worst book of this series in my opinion. The book is like the awkward middle part of the series Much like Greg.

It feels empty without Rowley, and it didn't really feel like it had a main plot. I just wasn't immersed into this book like the other ones in the series, but being a regular reader of the series, I had to read it. Another hilarious one. However, the narration is a bit dull compared to the other books.

The mom tries her best to keep track of her 3 boys, the dad is just too tired of saying anything. The gramma lives separately yet she plays a vital part. The grandpa is so damn funny in that he practically knows nothing about kids when he is left to watch the boys while the couple goes for another vacation.

Everything goes so well in making the book so damn hilarious. The humour is effortless.

Sometimes I just cannot bear Greg. He embarasses himself just too much! This happens in all the books of the series. He thinks something but the opposite happens.

I just cannot stop reading the series! Aug 21, haton. Aug 02, Sophia Ismaa rated it really liked it. As per usual, hilarious stuff. I could live on this series Sep 06, Natalie rated it really liked it Shelves: Greg and Rowley are on the outs. The trouble is, Greg doesn't have anyone to replace him with. He's also dealing with growing up.

It's not all fun and games. And there are also boy and girl parties coming up. Times are changing. My favorite part was when the Heffley's got a maid.

All I can say is, if being a maid means watching TV all day, eating snacks, and taking naps in my bed, then I guess I've finally found a career I can get excited about. This a is a fantastic series. So many giggles and Greg and Rowley are on the outs. So many giggles and so much fun. If you need something lighthearted, dive on in. Nov 19, Christian Goetz rated it really liked it.

It's about a guy named Greg who has a friend named Rowley and they become enemies. And there at parties without Rowley by his side. So Rowley's parents get him a thing called "Big Brother".

And it's a guy that acts like a brother to Rowley. At the end they end up becoming friends. I would reccommend this book.

You will like it because it's kind of like our life. Sep 23, Dylan Rice rated it it was amazing. Jun 15, Yareli Becerril rated it it was amazing. Okay, hands down this was the funniest D. K there is. Dec 06, Reese rated it it was amazing. In The Ugly Truth, an auto-biography by Jeff Kinney, takes place in a bunch of settings, like Gregory's house, and his school.

It's the beginning of the year and Greg got in another fight with his best friend Rowley, and they are no longer talking anymore, and to make matters even more awkward Rowleys be Diary of a Wimpy Kid: This all stinks because Greg is of the age where people in his grade start going to parties and kid's parents expect them to have more of a responsibility for themselves.

This is really ruff because Gregory has to experience all these big changes, without his ex-best friend, Rowley. I rated Jeff Kinney's novel The Ugly Truth, five out of five stars because It was very humorous, and had some parts that were really realistic to the life of a middle school student.

Times become confusing for Greg when he has to make new friends, has to take more responsibility for his actions, and has to face the ugly facts about being a teenager. Times became confusing for Greg when he had to make new friends in the beginning of the school year, because he had just recently broken up with his best friend Rowley, who he had been a jerk too. So finally, Rowley decided to stand up for himself and hang out with other people, actually hired college students Additionally, Times become confusing for Greg, when he has to take more responsibility for his actions.

This year, teachers are expecting more from all the students, and parents are expecting more from their kids. Grove hired me to take care of her plants while she was on a business trip. I did it for the first few days, and then I guess you could say I got busy with other things [ Grove said she wouldn't hire me again even if her life depended on it. Then she sent me home without paying. Greg also discovers he has to take more responsibility for his actions because he realizes he's been a real jerk to his friends and family lately, and know it's to late for him to change things because his friend already ditched him.

Finally, times become confusing for Greg, when he has to face the ugly truth about being a teenager. When your in middle school things can get very difficult, like new math homework your parents just don't get. Also, you must face big parties, and friendship issues. In contrast, times become confusing for Greg when he has to make new friends, has to take more responsibility for his actions, and has to face the ugly facts about being a teenager. I actually have a few connections to the novel The Ugly Truth , when Greg was invited to a big party it reminded me of all the Bar and Bat Mitzvah I've been to last year.

As most people know, they are usually the biggest parties people attend to in seventh grade. I remember I was really nervous going to my first one, but then I found it to be really fun.

Also, I can relate to Greg when he said his dad needed to catch up on the math, because when my dad helps me with math, he usually has to look back in the book to see how to do different kinds of new math skills we do in school these days. From reading this book I've learned that you should treat other people the way you want to be treated, because Greg was a bad friend to Rowley and when Rowley left him, Greg had a hard time making new ones because of his some what unbecoming behavior.

In conclusion, I think I did well on this essay. I actually had to read this book in a short period of time because I lost my novel I was reading before this, and I've spent about five hours all together typing, and filling out my outline. I thought highlighting all the words we're easy, but typing the whole thing was more difficult. If I had more time on this assignment, I would definitely read a more challenging book, but due to the short time I had after loosing my book and between the due date of this book review, I had to read something quickly!
